Trainee (m/f/d) Design & Engineering

With our Graduate Trainee Program we offer an exciting 18-month development journey in our Design & Engineering (ATF Business Unit) department as well as rotations in the interfacing business areas. 
The goal of this program is to impart technical and process-related know-how as well as to apply and integrate what has been learned within our ongoing global projects. This will give you the opportunity to learn about our core business first-hand, as well as to experience our company values while it is executed. We also offer the opportunity to actively exchange with mentors and colleagues and support your continuous learning process, including with regards to your career-relevant soft skills. 

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Preparation of calculation/planning documents for technical trades in building services engineering
  • Knowledge of the HOAI phases 1-9 planning structure and performance descriptions
  • Creation of design/construction/installation plans
  • Planning and concept development, as well as sizing of HVAC trades heating, ventilation, refrigeration
  • Planning of ductwork routes and coordination of shaft occupancy, as well as sizing of technical rooms
  • Preparation of component lists; quantity surveys for price calculations
  • Participation in the control and establishment of system concepts and layouts, technical flowcharts, site plans, and service descriptions, taking into account interfaces to other trades
  • Collection and evaluation of tenders, participation in the awarding of contracts, as well as technical clarifications with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Obtaining and reviewing offers for trade expansion in coordination with group/project management

Show your expertise

  • Successfully completed Bachelor's/Master's/Diploma in Engineering studies in energy, building, supply, automation, process engineering; mechanical engineering; engineering sciences; technical building services; chemical engineering or a comparable field of study or other equivalent technical training (e.g., technician training, technician for building automation or similar technical training)
  • Fluent in both German and English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of technical standards, norms, and applicable regulations is advantageous
  • Basic knowledge of project processes and project structure and organization
  • Communication and teamwork skills (in international teams)
  • Flexibility & high willingness to travel within Germany and Europe (traveling to customer locations or construction sites)
