As an active and visible champion for the Exyte EHS policies, you will work closely with the President GBU DTC, SVP GBU DTC Project Delivery and Corporate SVP EHS to drive the organization to a consistent level of world-class EHS performance and to implement strategic initiatives. 
As the GBU DTC EHS lead, you will be at the forefront of the leadership of the GBU DTC, overseeing EHS, fostering the IFW mindset and culture, and leading collaboration across the regional, functional and company resources within the Group.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Environmental, health and safety lead for all GBU DTC operations
  • Continually champion Exyte’s Injury Free Workplace (IFW) culture and program
  • Ensure the maintenance and implementation of the corporate EHS management system across the GBU
  • Develop and implement the GBU EHS strategy to align with wider corporate philosophy, business objectives and specific expectations within the data center industry
  • Cultivate a positive and high-performing culture within regional and project teams, fostering teamwork and delivering sustainable results
  • Collaborate closely with corporate, regional area and regional business unitteams to ensure aligned messaging and approach
  • Hands-on support and oversight to ensure processes, systems and tools are consistently set up and maintained across the business
  • Provide specialist support and advice to the business in the critical area of the control of hazardous energies; specifically electrica land Lock-Out / Tag-Out requirements
  • Help familiarize Exyte and trade partner personnel with the Exyte EHS Policy
  • Assist with the recruitment and development of EHS specialists to support GBU operations and Exyte’s broader EHS philosophy
  • Define, analyze and report key EHS performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Provide early-stage support by assisting business acquisition teams, including preparation of relevant technical bid deliverables
  • Provide support to client pre-qualification, project Interviews etc. from an EHS perspective
  • Encourage and promote the value of early incident reporting from those on site
  • Encourage submittal of near misses, good catches, lessons learned/best practices and promote the recognition of those helping that effort 
  • Lead major accident / incident response, reporting and investigation
  • Provide lead client / statutory EHS liaison and support
  • Develop and deliver bespoke EHS training, campaigns and iniatives as required
  • Horizon scanning for the latest EHS innovations and developments and how these can be practically used to deliver safer outcomes
  • Oversee GBU environmental duty of care compliance, waste management and resource consumption strategy benchmarking and analysis
  • Global travel to Exyte offices and project sites as well as customer meetings on an as needed and often short notice basis

Show your expertise

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in EHS, engineering, construction management or related field
  • 15+ years' experience in the construction industry 
  • Experience in a medium or large company in a lead EHS or operational/technical role as part of the senior management team.
  •  Experience in the construction industry preferably in the DTC sector
  • Proven expertise in Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM) or EPC environments
  • Control of hazardous energy (specifically electrical) subject matter expert 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries. 
  • Proven track record of world class EHS performance delivery 
  • Experience of effectively managing customer and stakeholder relationships 
  • Specific experience in key technical areas such as civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical will be an advantage in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role 
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex issues to a variety of stakeholders in English
