The Senior Engineer, Mechanical participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems: HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Performs engineering tasks for the design of utilities and HVAC (wet/dry) systems for high technology facilities including cleanrooms, general manufacturing/process facilities and institutional facilities
  • Prepares the mechanical engineering calculations in support of HVAC systems design including heat load calculations, duct sizing, chilled water hydraulics, static pressure calculations, equipment sizing and selection
  • Coordination with disciplines in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensuring those other disciplines’ inputs are incorporated
  • Support project on-site execution and make decisions to support projects and act as technical consultant
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise
  • Assists in developing studies and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by discipline team
  • Works will include close coordination with the project team and other disciplines as well as other design offices
  • Assists in the development of conceptual design, preliminary design and final design documents which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting of these systems, the development of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, general arrangements and sequences of operation associated with these systems
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Record preferred
  • 6+ years of experience 
  • Advanced Technology experience preferred
  • Autodesk Building Systems Software
  • Consulting engineering experience preferred
  • Experience working within a team environment
  • Experience in the quality control review process
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes
